Product Description
No straight lines, no perfect curves. This gold buckle has an uneven, flowing outline, narrower at the top and fuller at the bottom, like a pebble worn smooth by water. The whole frame is covered in small hammered dimples, which break up the light into a soft, grainy sparkle.
A straight bar runs through the opening from top to bottom. Fabric passes over this bar and gathers on either side, so the buckle pulls the material into soft folds.
That makes it a natural fit for draped and ruched designs. Set it at the side waist of a gathered dress, on the hip of a wrap skirt, or at the knot of a sarong or pareo. It also works on draped sarees and pre-stitched saree gowns, kaftans, one-shoulder tops, and wide fabric belts. At 7.7 cm tall, it is a statement piece, and the hammered gold stands out well against rich solid colours like emerald, teal, wine and black.

How to Use
- Gather the fabric where you want the ruching, such as the side seam at the waist.
- Push the gathered fabric up through the buckle on one side of the centre bar.
- Fold it over the bar and take it down through the other side.
- Pull the fabric until the folds look even, then position the buckle upright or at a slight angle.
- Tack the buckle to the garment with a few stitches around the bar so it stays in place.

Q.Which way up should the buckle sit?
A.Either way works. Most designers place the narrower end at the top, as shown in the images, but it can also be turned or tilted to suit the drape.
Q.Is the surface rough?
A.No. The hammered dimples are shallow and smooth to the touch, so they do not snag fabric.
Q.Can it hold a belt?
A.Yes, a soft fabric belt or sash can be threaded over the centre bar. It has no prong, so it is not suited to stiff leather belts with holes.
Q.Is it too heavy for light fabrics?
A.At 14.7 grams, it works well on crepe, satin, jersey, and georgette. For very sheer fabrics, stitch it through a seam or a small backing patch.
Q.How do I clean it?
A.Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, perfume, and chemical cleaners.
