Product Description

Gold & Silver Hook Buckle for Dress & Belt, 11.5 cm

A gold and silver hook buckle for dress and belt, 11.5 x 3.5 cm, in a shiny polished finish.

The buckle comes in two halves. Each half is a wavy, free-form loop with a soft, molten look, so no two curves are quite the same. One loop hooks into the other, and the two shapes lock together in the centre.

On each end there is a small rectangular bar for the strap. You pass a ribbon, fabric tie or belt strap through the bar and stitch it down. The buckle then opens and closes by hooking the two halves together.

There is no prong and no belt holes are needed. This makes it a clean, decorative closure for fabric belts and dress waists.

Where to use it

  • Dresses and gowns: at the waist, as a buckle for dress belts and wrap ties
  • Jumpsuits and co-ord sets: on the waist tie
  • Sarees and lehengas: on a fabric kamarband or saree belt
  • Coats and blazers: as a front closure, in place of a button
  • Jackets and cardigans: at the collar or the front opening
  • Belts: on fabric, ribbon or PU straps, as a belt hook buckle
  • Bags: on handbag straps and front flaps

Loved by boutique owners, fashion designers and DIY creators

  • Boutique owners use it on the waist tie of plain dresses and kurtas. A small buckle like this lifts the whole outfit.
  • Fashion designers use it as a front closure on coats, blazers and capes, where a button would look too plain.
  • Ethnic wear designers use the golden buckle on saree belts and lehenga waistbands.
  • Belt and bag makers use it as a hook buckle for fabric and PU straps.
  • DIY creators and fashion students use it to turn a simple ribbon into a fancy belt.

Why it works

It closes without holes. A prong buckle needs punched holes in the strap. This one just hooks together, so it suits soft fabrics, satin and ribbon.

The wavy shape looks like jewellery. The loops have a free-form, molten look, like modern metal jewellery. On a plain dress it reads as a design detail, not just a fastener.

Gold and silver suit different looks. The gold buckle goes with ethnic wear, black, beige and jewel tones. The silver buckle goes with western wear, denim, grey and white.

It is small and light. At 11.5 cm and about 18.5 grams, it sits flat on fine fabrics without pulling them down.

  2. Pass the strap through the bar on one half and fold it back by 2 to 3 cm.
  3. Stitch the fold firmly by hand or by machine, close to the bar.
  4. Repeat on the other half with the other end of the strap.
  5. Try it on before the final stitching, to check the length.
  6. Close by hooking one loop into the other. Open by lifting one loop out.

FAQs

Q.What is a hook buckle?
A.It is a buckle in two parts that close by hooking one part into the other. It has no prong and needs no holes in the strap.

Q.Can I use this buckle for a dress?
A.Yes. It works well as a buckle for dress waist ties, wrap belts and gown belts.

Q.What does 1 pair mean?
A.One pair is one complete buckle: two halves that hook into each other.

Q.What strap width does it take?
A.It suits narrow straps and ribbons that fit through the end bars. Check the bar size against your strap before stitching.

Q.Will it open by itself?
A.It stays closed under normal wear. On a very tight belt or heavy coat, add a small hidden press button nearby for extra hold.

Q.Is it available in gold and silver?
A.Yes. Choose gold or silver from the colour options above.

Q.Can I use it on a saree belt?
A.Yes. Stitch it to a fabric kamarband or a ready saree belt strap.

Q.How do I care for it?
A.Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use. Keep it away from water, perfume and harsh cleaners. Store it in a dry pouch so the finish stays bright.
