Product Description

Gold & Silver Hook Buckle for Coat & Blazer

A gold and silver hook buckle for coats and blazers.

Each half is a curved hook with a pointed tip, shaped like a claw. The two hooks face each other. In the centre sits a small double-bar link, and each hook catches onto it. The result is a three-part look: hook, link, hook.

On each end there is a rectangular strap bar. You pass a fabric tab, ribbon or belt strap through it and stitch it down. To close the buckle, you hook both sides onto the centre link.

There is no prong and no belt holes are needed. The buckle sits on top of the garment as a visible design detail.

Where to use it

  • Coats and overcoats: as a front closure in place of buttons
  • Blazers and suits: at the waist, as a blazer buckle on a double-breasted or open front
  • Jackets and shrugs: at the collar or the front opening
  • Belts: on fabric, leather or PU straps, as a metal buckle for belt
  • Kurtas and Nehru jackets: as a decorative front link
  • Capes and ponchos: at the neck
  • Bags: on flaps and straps

Loved by boutique owners, fashion designers and DIY creators

  • Menswear and suit tailors use the big size as a coat buckle on blazers and bandhgalas, in place of a button.
  • Fashion designers use it on women’s coats and capes, where a bold metal closure becomes the focal point.
  • Boutique owners use the small size on waist ties and jacket fronts.
  • Belt and bag makers use it as a 2 piece belt buckle on fabric and PU straps.
  • DIY creators and fashion students use it to upgrade old coats and jackets.

Why it works

It replaces buttons with one bold piece. On a coat or blazer, one big buckle at the waist does the work of a button and looks more striking.

The hook-link-hook shape reads from a distance. The curved hooks and the centre link make a clear outline, even on dark or textured fabric.

It opens and closes easily. The hooks slip on and off the centre link, so there is no need to thread a strap through every time.

Two sizes for two kinds of garments. The big size suits heavy coats and blazers. The small size suits lighter fabrics, dresses and bags.

If you want a smaller design with linked loops instead of hooks, see our gold and silver hook buckle for dress. For more styles that close the same way, see our clasp buckles. For all designs in metal, see our metal buckles.

Key Features

  • Coat and blazer buckle with two curved hooks and a centre link
  • Strap bars on both ends for fabric tabs, ribbons or belts
  • No prong and no holes, so the strap stays neat

How to Use ?

  1. Choose the size: big for coats and blazers, small for jackets, dresses and bags.
  2. Make two fabric tabs from the garment fabric, or use a ribbon or strap.
  3. Pass each tab through the end bar on one hook and fold it back by 2 to 3 cm.
  4. Stitch the fold firmly, close to the bar. For coats, stitch through the facing as well.
  5. Place the tabs on both sides of the opening and stitch them to the garment.
  6. Close by hooking both sides onto the centre link.

FAQs

Q.What is a coat buckle?
A.It is a buckle used to close the front of a coat or blazer, in place of a button. This one closes by hooking onto a centre link.

Q.What does 1 pair mean?
A.One pair is one complete buckle set: two hooks and the centre link.

Q.Can I use it as a belt buckle?
A.Yes. Stitch the strap ends to the end bars. It works as a metal buckle for belt on fabric, leather and PU straps.

Q.Will it open by itself?
A.It stays closed under normal wear. On a tight belt or a heavy coat, add a small hidden press button nearby for extra hold.

Q.Is it available in gold and silver?
A.Yes. Choose the colour and size from the options above.

Q.Is it suitable for menswear?
A.Yes. The big size is used on men’s blazers, coats and Nehru jackets.

Q.How do I care for it?
A.Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use. Keep it away from water, perfume and harsh cleaners. Store it in a dry pouch so the finish stays bright.
