Product Description

White Net Flower Guipure Lace Patch (Spun Poly)

A white Guipure Lace Patch (Spun Poly) shaped like a five-petal flower, 5.5 inches wide.

Each petal is an open net of fine threads, like a small fishing net. The outer edge of every petal ends in soft scallops. At the centre is a small solid flower with a tiny hole in the middle. The petals are almost all open space, so the patch looks airy, even at this size.

Guipure is a lace style with no net fabric behind it. Only the threads hold the design together. This is why it is also called a cutwork floral patch.

It is a dyeable patch. It comes in white, and you can dye it to match your fabric. It is a sew-on patch with no glue, so you stitch it by hand or by machine.

Where to use it

  • Blouses and crop tops: on the sleeve, hem, or back
  • Tops and dresses: at the chest, shoulder, or waist
  • Kurtis and kurtas: on the yoke or side panel
  • Sarees and dupattas: as corner motifs
  • Tote bags and jute bags: on the front, as patches for bags
  • Cushion covers and table linen: as a décor accent

Loved by boutique owners, fashion designers and DIY creators

  • Boutique owners use it on blouse sleeves and backs. Two or three flowers make a plain blouse look custom-made.
  • Fashion designers layer it over a contrast fabric, so the colour shows through the net.
  • Bag makers use fabric patches for bags like this to give a plain tote a handmade look.
  • Garment manufacturers and exporters buy it in white and dye it with the garment fabric.
  • DIY creators and fashion students use it for upcycling old tops, denim, and home décor.

Why it works

It is big, but it does not look heavy. Most big flower patches for clothes are solid and stiff. This one is open net, so it stays light on thin fabrics like georgette and crepe.

The fabric becomes part of the design. Whatever is under the patch shows through. On black, the white net looks sharp. On a bright colour, the colour fills the petals.

White is only the start. Use it as-is for white flower patches on clothes, or dye it for a tone-on-tone look.

It works alone or in a group. One patch is enough for a top or a bag. Three in a row can finish a hem. It also pairs well with other cutwork patches and a matching white lace border.

  2. Place the patch on the garment and spread the petals flat.
  3. Pin each petal, or tack it with a few loose stitches.
  4. Stitch along the scalloped edge of every petal with matching thread.
  5. Secure the centre with a few small stitches around the solid flower.
  6. Finish by knotting the thread on the wrong side.

FAQs

Q.What is a guipure lace patch?
A.It is a patch made in guipure style. The design is held together by threads only, with no net fabric behind it. This gives an open, cutwork look.

Q.Can I dye this patch?
A.Yes. This patch is dyeable. Use a dye made for polyester, and test on one piece first, because the shade can vary.

Q.Is this a sew-on or an iron-on patch?
A.It is a sew-on patch. It has no glue on the back and needs to be stitched.

Q.How big is this patch?
A.It is 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide. It covers most of a blouse sleeve or the centre of a tote bag.

Q.Can I use it on a bag?
A.Yes. It works well on cotton, canvas, and jute tote bags. Stitch every petal down, so the net does not catch on anything.

Q.Will the net petals tear easily?
A.Handle it like any lace. Do not pull the threads, and stitch all the edges down so the petals stay flat.

Q.How many patches are in one pack?
A.One pack has 1 piece.

Q.How do I wash it?
A.Hand wash gently in cold water with mild detergent. Do not scrub or wring. Dry flat in the shade. Iron on the wrong side on low heat, with a cloth in between.
